My Road To Journalism

I have always wanted to pursue a career in front of the camera. i started out as an actor for first 10 years of my life. However after going to the performing arts high school Booker T. Washington HSPVA I realized that Theatre wasnt my calling after all! After I explored a myriad of options in the medical field over the span of an entire year I found a passionate love for broudcast journalism.

I met CBS 11 News anchos Brendan Higgins while at a veterans ceremony when I attended Booker T. He was so suave and bigger than life. I snuck backstage ,and basically made him meet me. Long story short we ended up having a lengthy conversation about the road he took to earn his broadcasting seat. I was convinced and enticed by his lifestyle. Fast-forward two years and he's giving me a tour of the news station, not only allowing me to shadow him but walking me through what my personal plan needs to be to excel in this industry. Through this journey I've been incredibly fortunate to have BHiggs as my mentor, especially to have him give me a one-on-one tutorial on finding what I want to be in this industry.

My goal is for people to visit my website and feel like they just step foot into a word of journalism. I'm going to coat the site with information and fun facts about broadcast media.

My 120 Pound Journey Review

With inspiration you can move mountains. This video invoked deep consideration about what I personally should do to achieve happiness. He didn't set out with a specific idea to train for a marathon ,but he found joy, revival, and redemption out of what seems like such a remedial task. I enjoy that he wasn't just working out to loose weight. His life was in shambles and he took control of the situation before he encountered even worse obstacles like complications in his health. I was inspired by this video My 120 Pound Journey and i hope to face my ambition head on like he did!

        It seems like such an oxymoron to say that I, a professionally trained dedicated actress see myself 10 years from now working in the medical field as a Physicians Assistant, meanwhile ten years beforehand all i saw for my life was bright hollywood lights. After being trained and working professionally in the field for a substantial time, my plan is to end up in the "doctors without borders program". Now, i do strongly believe in the phrase "We make plans while God laughs" ,however i also believe that goals give you strength. three months ago i wouldn't of been able to tell you what exactly i want to do with myself, but after being in college, I had a lightning period when i realized the time for uncertainty had passed and i now needed a tangible picture of myself. Outside of being your average headstrong, goofy, compassionate, emotional teen; I have a profound love and appreciation for learning.

       As far as the yearbook ideas, I think a fun theme may be outer space! Only because its out of the box and reiterates the inspirational "reach for the stars" theme.
